Senior Director - Partnerships & Alliances

Product Strategy is function within Volvo Cars Corporation with the responsibility for all product strategy matters, from strategic work to end of life of the products. This function is responsible for business development through product creation and for maximizing the profitability of all our products. Product Strategy manages the VCC cycle plan and the product decision process towards Product Board and VCC Board of Directors. We define all prerequisites for all car and powertrain programs and ensures the link towards the company Business Plan. Senior Director Partnerships & Alliances We are searching for a new Senior Director to lead the Partnership & Alliance team within Product Strategy, reporting directly to the VP for Product Strategy. Partnerships & Alliances are responsible for all major interactions with external companies. From initial contacts to contractual management of signed contracts. In addition the team is also responsible for developing and creating a plan for potential future partners. Examples of contracts are all Volvo – Geely cooperation’s, the newly agreed partnership with Uber and the Joint Venture with Autoliv in the field of autonomous drive. Your mission As Senior Director you will manage all 3rd party contacts, from initial contact to follow up and managing agreed contracts. Proactively manage the partnership and alliance process within Volvo Cars. You will take the lead with cross functional teams to secure full internal alignment and develop and anchor new process for this area. Crucially-you will present and recommend partnership and contract decisions to the top management; Executive Management Team, Product Board and PMM in addition to preparing partnership decisions and reviews for the Board of Directors. From there you will communicate approved contracts internally. Do you fit the profile? As a leader, you bring personal strengths of communication, negotiation, presentation and inspiration. You have working and leadership experience in an indusrial area (auomoive, manufactoring, etc.). The company target is to electrify 10% of the cars in 2020 and to have 1 million electrified cars on the road in 2025.   Join us as Hardware Responsible (HWKA) within the Charging Team. We are responsible for the development of competitive charging solutions for on-board charger and DC/DC. The team is the core competence centre in Northern Europe in regards to charging solutions.   The on-board charger (OBC) is essential for electrified vehicles, it holds the functionality to charge the traction battery from the grid, and it is for sure of highest importance in a pure electric vehicle. Both AC- and DC-charging are in current projects and wireless charging is already around the corner. The DC/DCs coverts energy from the traction battery to the low voltage system for suppling all the 12/48V power consumers in the car.   In this position, you will be working as an HW electrical engineer and be part of an engineering team that develop engineering solutions for on-board chargers (OBC) and DC/DC that fulfil functional/attribute requirements and manufacturing process demands within decided cost and time frames. The work includes contacts with other engineering departments, CAE teams, and manufacturing engineering within our company as well as with external suppliers.   Your key tasks * Review and support the development of design of electrical HW components, e.g. OBCs and DC/DCs * Balance and optimize electrical HW design against electrical requirements * Manage supplier contacts with regards to timing, technology and cost * Optimize packaging of components and participate at package meetings for resolution of mechanical conflicts and clearances issues * Be responsible to ensure that the technical documentation are available at the right level and at the right time * Dimensioning of connectors and cables regarding insulation, current, EMC etc.   You and your skills * At least BSc degree in electrical engineering or similar * Experience working as an electrical design engineer in automotive industry * Fluent in English (written and spoken) * Driver’s license (B)   Meritorious experience * Knowledge of EMC and shielding * Knowledge of connector systems * Experience from agile development * Good understanding of VCC’s product development process   Who are you? We also secure internet connection and provide digital app content including workshop booking. As a Certification Leader” in the Connectivity ART, you will focus on making sure that our products are certified for concerned markets.  You will work in close collaboration with development teams, Legal Support, System Architects as well as homologation and certification departments. Main responsibilities of the Department Active Safety is an area where Volvo, through continuous launching of new, innovative, and world first safety features, has positioned itself among the leaders of the automotive industry. The section “Propulsion Diagnostics & Dependability” consists of over a hundred highly motivated engineers. We work with Powertrain diagnostic and dependability in all development phases; from early advanced engineering to after sales market follow up, where we are responsible for strategies, specifications, function development, calibration, verification and legal interpretation for this area. We continually face stricter regulatory requirements from government agencies worldwide. In addition, the car buyers demand higher quality and faster service at workshops. It is difficult and a real challenge to fulfil the legal demands and at the same time deliver useful root cause fault information at workshops. It means that the diagnostic system must be robust, i.e. no false alarms and no missed alarms. To be able to do that we support the rest of the section with analytic tools and analysis of measurement data from test vehicles and customer cars. We work in the fields of mathematics and statistics involving among other multivariate methods, machine learning, big data, data mining, etc. We would like to strengthen our data analysis team working with analytic tools development and data analysis. Main responsibility is development of analytic tools in a Python based data processing framework for largescale analysis of time series data (Sympathy For Data). You will also act as a support to the rest of the section with analysis of measurement data. Associate Legal Counsel - Procurement

We are now looking for our third team member who will have the opportunity to develop a strong legal career within our global organization.     What you will do In this role you will provide the Volvo Car organisation with legal support in a variety of purchasing matters ranging from non-complex to medium complex nature or risk. It could be anything from supporting buyers in negotiations and contract drafting with suppliers, assisting more experienced legal counsels in medium complex matters, preparing legal documents in legal matters with limited complexity and risk, providing basic internal legal training to the organisation to being engaged in preparation of various legal templates and communication material. Adequate legal support requires interaction with general and specialist legal functions with the Volvo Cars Group, including Legal HQ, IP, Compliance, Finance and Environment as well as close collaboration with the stakeholders of the various agreements.   Do you fit the profile? Depending on the area handled by the teams you will be product owner for two or three different teams.   What you’ll do You will work closely with the Scrum masters for your teams and the product managers for your ART. As a product owner your goal is to minimize non-value added work by owning and deciding upon priorities in the team backlogs. Accepting a story includes validation that the story meets acceptance criteria and has the appropriate acceptance tests, and that it meets its Definition of Done. * Participate as a member of the extended Product Management team and review and contribute to the program-level vision, roadmap, and content presentations. You and your skills You have a several years of experience from working with harness related tasks or components and are well versed in the harness manufacturing process. Experience from the automotive industry is meritorious and harness development experience is a requirement. You have a University degree in Engineering or equivalent working experience and your English is fluent (written and spoken). The group cover all aspects of weight on vehicle level, from concept to the homologation process as well as structural optimization to weight simulation. The group deliveries range from cycle plan input, technical input into the needs process, development of the next generation’s weight strategy, legal compliance, setting and follow-up requirements cross programs and advanced engineering projects. You’ll be responsible of a team of 10 dedicated and highly knowledgeable members where you’re responsible of creating development opportunities, establish a long-term competence development, planning activities as well as recruiting for key competences. You’ll lead the group by example in the day-to-day work, drive the transition from physical to virtual attribute development, and secure legal compliance for weight worldwide. For the area of weight, you’ll continuously work with the team to develop a weight IT-strategy and supporting IT-tools. Further, you secure the department’s highly critical deliveries as well as the cooperation of weight resources with product and quality department in Gothenburg and China. You will also participate in the department’s transformation to agile work practices. Do you fit the profile? You have a MSc or equivalent work experience gained in the area of Mechanical Engineering. To fit for this role you have senior leadership experience from the automotive industry and a genuine interest in mechanical design and weight optimization. The department Propulsion Energy System is responsible for development of major parts of hybrid and electric vehicle systems at Volvo Cars. Both AC- and DC-charging are in current projects and wireless charging is already around the corner. The DCDCs coverts energy from the traction battery to the low voltage system for suppling all the 12/48V power consumers in the car. Our vision is to deliver the best functionality in the market for Charging Software functionality and continuously evolve our way of working. As a Diagnostics, Dependability and Quality Engineer you would take an active part in how the design for the diagnostics should be, to continuously review and improve the suppliers and the inhouse implementation. You will gain an understanding of the robustness of the diagnostics monitors, as well as the status of the vehicles in the field, and you need to able to analyse large amount of data to get this understanding. This improves the reliability and the quality of our products. You need to be updated with the legal demands regarding OBDII and other emission related legislation, and ensure that the OBC and DCDCs will fulfil these requirements. Main Responsibilities * Requirement engineering, break down of top-level requirements as you are the bridge between System Design and the diagnostics implementation, * Secure that the diagnostic implementation fulfils both legal demands as well as demands from ourselves within the product development * Continuously review/improve the diagnostics implementation from supplier and inhouse * Secure documentation and feasibility in suppliers strategy of diagnostic implementation * Add/Update the diagnostic data in the Volvo cars database for diagnostics * Support of developing fault tracing methods for efficient trouble shooting in workshops * Lead the work of analysing the robustness for diagnostic monitors * Monitor the data that we get from the vehicles in the field and use that information to work in a proactive way * Participate as a technical expert in the verification and validation test activities What do you need to have? We believe that you have University degree within engineering, preferably power electronics or embedded system, M. Sc., B. Sc. or equivalent by work life experience. You will early be involved in new projects, but you will also follow the projects along the way. You need to take an active part to review/understand the system requirements, to break-down the system requirements, to ensure that the relationship between the different levels of requirements is set, and of course, to create software requirements that are both specific and clear. As the area of charging is still expanding, you need to be updated on the different versions and revisions of the charging standards as for example CCS and CHAdeMO, and to understand the new charging technologies that will come. Om oss Gruppen Elektronik Underhåll ansvarar för att förse alla R&D:s testriggar med förebyggande och avhjälpande underhåll inom el/elektronik/automation/data området. Gruppen supportar ca 300 riggar inom krock, hållfasthet, ergonomi, uthållighet, emission, motor, drivlina, hel bil, komponent, vindtunnlar samt aktiv säkerhet. Vi är idag 20 medarbetare samt 10 konsulter. Vi letar just nu efter en Underhållsingenjör med inriktning Data. Vad erbjuder vi ? Som Underhållsingenjör kommer ditt arbete att bestå av att utföra förebyggande samt avhjälpande åtgärder när olika fel inträffar. Vid dessa tillfällen kommer du att arbeta i nära samarbete med operatör och/eller provningsingenjören för riggen. De varierande riggtyperna kommer att ge dig såväl ett stort personligt nätverk som ett brett teknisk kunnande. Antalet riggar som är komplexa till sitt utförande tenderar att öka mer och mer. Detta leder till ökade krav på unik och bred teknisk kunskap. Idag provar vi ofta flera karaktäristiker samtidigt, vilket leder till att flera olika databaserade mätsystem arbetar tillsammans. Arbetet består också av förebyggande underhåll på daglig basis i form av systemändringar, reservdelsbyten samt analyser av felkoder i system för att undvika att de inträffar igen.  Du arbetar med * Mjukvara för automations system, samt hård- och mjukvara i datorer * Styrsystem och  Elektrisk mätteknik * Kontakter med interna och externa leverantörer Du och dina färdigheter * Har du arbetat med Elektro, Mekatronik, Automation eller motsvarande och har några års Erfarenhet från felsökning i mjukvara? * Erfarenhet/kunskap om implementering av kodändringar? * Erfarenhet av felsökning på testriggar? * Erfarenhet av mjukvara för automationssystem? * Kunskap om elektriska drivsystem för fordon samt Kunskap om bilteknik generellt? Component CAD/Design Engineer
What we offer 94240 Electrical Distribution System (EDS) is responsible for developing the electrical distribution system, the wiring harness and the wiring harness components, in all vehicle lines within Volvo Cars. 94243 EDS Concept and Quality are responsible for the design work done in house from concept phases to production. They handle testing of EDS deliveries and are responsible for handling all EDS related quality issues. The team is also responsible for the CAE tools used by EDS' suppliers and for CAE support. As a component CAD design engineer at EDS you will work with several different components and materials that will broaden your expertise. You will work closely with several different suppliers in many countries giving you useful connections for the future. What you’ll do As a component CAD design engineer at EDS you are responsible for developing EDS components from concept phase to the final product (build to print) and works closely with the lead engineers and the suppliers. The role also includes concept studies and the initiation of component development.  Areas of responsibilities: * Design of EDS components * Create drawings and models of EDS components * Keep contact with suppliers regarding updates and changes * Handle and determine possible redesigns to solve issues found in testing or manufacturing * Responsible for handling design related quality issues * You and your skills * You have experience from component design and possible from tool manufacturing and the manufacturing process. You have designed in different materials such as plastic and metal and have a good knowledge about plastic materials. Experience from the automotive industry is meritorious. * You have a University degree in Engineering or equivalent working experience and your English is fluent (written and spoken). *  You have CAD tool experience, preferable from working with CATIA V5 experience (Part design and GSD). * KDP and Teamcenter experience is meritorious together with knowledge about Volvo Cars product development process. Function Developer OBD (On-board Diagnostics) The group Aftertreatment & Combustion OBD is responsible for OBD (On-board Diagnostics) monitors for misfire, catalyst, SCR, NOx absorber, DPF / GPF for conventional and hybrid vehicles. The deliveries cover the hole time frame from legal interpretation, creating monitoring concept, deliver software, calibration and validation down to follow up the field status from customers cars. The group consists of three teams, each responsible for a specific technical area. We are responsible for the development of competitive charging solutions for on-board charger and DC/DC. The team is the core competence centre in Northern Europe in regards to charging solutions. The on-board charger (OBC) is essential for electrified vehicles, it holds the functionality to charge the traction battery from the grid, and it is for sure of highest importance in a pure electric vehicle. Both AC- and DC-charging are in current projects and wireless charging is already around the corner. The DC/DCs coverts energy from the traction battery to the low voltage system for suppling all the 12/48V power consumers in the car. In this position, you as System Responsible will be part of an engineering team that develop engineering systems solutions for on-board chargers (OBC) and DC/DC that fulfil requirements and manufacturing process demands within decided cost and time frames. Working with charging interoperability is also an important part of this role. You will work in a cross-functional environment with other departments within Volvo Cars Product & Quality. The work demands a personality that drives tasks effectively and finds ways to implement the best possible solution. Your key tasks * Manage and secure deliveries (i.e. to be project/team leader) for the charging system * Lead optimizing and balancing of system requirement fulfilment * Create a state of the art system solution by deploying sub-system requirement into ECU components (HW/SW) * Lead concept creation, early design and pre-development * Develop solution for charging systems according to Volvo Cars development process and confirm the solution with receiving industrialization * Create roadmaps and future platform solutions for the OBC and DC/DC * Keep updated with market trends and benchmark You and your skills * MSc degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience * At least 5 years of system management experience in the automotive industry * Documented leadership capability * Fluent in English (written and spoken) * Driver’s license (B) Meritorious experience * Experience from agile development * Experience from FMEA * Knowledge within data communication protocols for example, CCS, Chademo and GB/T * Experience from ISO 26262 * Good understanding of Volvo Cars’ product development process Who are you?
